Talamh has always had a mix of members, mostly individuals, but also some families. Occasionally rooms become available to rent. You will have to be able to live and work alongside many other people in sometimes chaotic surroundings!
Members take on responsibilities when joining the Co-op. There are voluntary work commitments of 14 hours a week which typically involves taking on areas of responsibility for the running of the co-op and the charity.
Potential co-operative members are advised to visit the co-op regularly and participate in its activities. The first step is that a request would be put into a co-op meeting that you would like to join. If agreed you then become a “prospective member”. After a four-month (mutual) trial period a unanimous decision is required before you become a full member. There may be a waiting list if space is not currently available.
